PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF SHOW DATE AND AMENDED AUDITION TIMES
Flying High 2016 will be performed at the Derby Theatre, from Wednesday 16th to Saturday 20th February 2016. Please note that this is the week of school half term locally so please don’t audition if you will be away that week. Auditions are open to all members of the Scout and Guide Association of age 8 years and above.
All applicants need to bring the completed application form together with a passport size photo of themselves with their name written on the back, to the auditions at Borrow Wood Primary School, Arundel Drive, Spondon, Derby DE21 7QW. Applicants do not need to come to both, come on which date suits best at the following dates and times:
Saturday 6th June 2015 - All members under the age of 15 years should come at 5.00pm to 7.00pm and members over the age of 15 years at 7.15pm to 8.15pm.
Sunday 14th June 2015 - All members under the age of 15 years should come at 2.00pm to 4.00pm and members over the age of 15 years at 4.15pm to 5.15pm.
Please note that Cubs and Brownies must be 8 years of age at the time of the show. Applicants will be required do movement to music and sing in groups.
Uniform is not required for the auditions but please wear comfortable clothing and suitable footwear for movement. Everyone who attends will be notified of the result of the auditions as soon as possible afterwards. Rehearsals for those successful will take place on Saturday evenings commencing on Saturday 5th September 2015, at the Scout and Guide Centre, 120 Osmaston Road, Derby DE1 2RF, with some additional specialist rehearsals as and when required. Rehearsals after Christmas will take place at Borrow Wood Primary School, Spondon. Cast members will be expected to make a commitment to the show and attend all rehearsals.
You will be expected to learn the extract of the song below for your audition but on the day you will only be expected to sing one or two lines on your own and then together with the rest of your audition group.
You do not need to know the words off by heart you can sing from a words sheet but you need to be familiar with the tune.
