SONGS FOR AUDITIONS
This year for the music audition we would like you to have a go at learning a piece of music at home before you come to the audition. Please do your best to learn the song but don’t worry if you struggle, we won’t turn anyone away if they haven’t learnt the song, it will just make our lives easier if you have learnt it.
Cubs and Brownies
Please learn the first minute of the song ‘When I Grow Up’ from the musical ‘Matilda’ by Tim Minchin, you will find on this page, a cut down clip of what you need to learn along with a lyric sheet and a backing track to practice with so you know what it will sound like on the day.
Scouts, Guides, Explorers, Rangers and Adults
Please learn the first minute and half of ‘World in Union’ by Hayley Westenra.
• Please note that her version sounds very high, if you listen to the ‘World in Union with tune’ track it is much easier to sing to, especially for the men, but listen to her original track to get an idea of the song.
• On the backing tracks you have a short intro and start at 5 seconds.
You will also find a lyric sheet and a copy of the sheet music for anyone who can read music with the words on.
Any problems or questions please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
